Hi, I’m Amanda. 

I’m a junior fashion merchandising major at the Shannon Rogers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising at Kent State University, minoring in fashion media and public relations. I’ve decided to skip out of my rural Ohio town and spend a year abroad – fall semester in Florence, Italy and spring semester in New York City.

Out of Ohio is not your typical “small town girl with big city dreams” (ick) online journal. Oh no. Here you’ll find embarrassing accounts of travel mishaps all over Europe and NYC, travel tips and (almost) daily accounts of what’s going on anywhere you wish you were instead.

This blog is for go-getters, the people who know they were made for bigger and better things. I’m getting the hell out of Ohio and making it happen.
