Florence / Travels

Two Week Recap

I know, it’s been a while since I last wrote.

But what can I say, I’m a busy girl over here! We finally reached the half-way point in this study abroad adventure, a dreaded time of homesickness, empty wallets and mounds of paperwork for planning next semester in NYC.

It’s been a sleepless two weeks since Ireland, mostly because the Florence mosquitoes are alive and biting more than ever. The fact that I have to spray myself with Off before bed, just to wake up with bites all over my face and hands, is enough to make me want to be back in Ohio.

However, I am off to London! Our last study tour trip with the fashion program, my suitcase is packed with my new winter coat and chocolates from last week’s trip to Perugia for the EuroChocolate festival. I am very excited to make my way back to London, another city I visited when I was 16. In the midst of a protest that kept us in our hotel most of the trip, I’m planning a detailed itinerary to see everything I missed.

And from doing such I have concluded that I need about three weeks in London. Apart from Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, my roommates and I decided to go all out on this trip, heading to Warner Brothers studio for a tour of the Harry Potter set, a Beatles taxi tour and a ride on the London Eye. With school we have trips to the Globe Theater, Tate Modern, the Victoria and Albert Museum, a seminar at Central Saint Martins, tea at Harvey Nichols and… WE’RE SEEING WICKED! My third time seeing the musical and I’ve still been singing along to the soundtrack in preparation all week.

Needless to say this will be the best trip with Kent, as far as I can tell.
